Solo male strategy
- The trail family is the best feature of a solo Camino. Stay open, walk with strangers, eat the communal dinner.
- Don't race. The faster you walk, the smaller your social world becomes.
- Use albergue lockers. Theft is rare but possible — a €15 padlock removes the variable.
- Drink less than you'd think. The 1L of wine at the pilgrim menu is the #1 cause of bad Day 4s.
- Send a daily check-in text home. Not for fear — for connection.
